electric blue & ALF too

this time of year i think i suffer from a mild case of seasonal depression. you know when the loss of summer & sun makes people lose the will to do anything so they hibernate throughout winter and dream sweet dreams about summer sun? anyway, this autumn i am determined not to suffer. so here are a few things to remind me life is still good as the sun disappears and the days get shorter.

i am well known in my world for being attracted to shiny objects. anything colourful, pretty or a little special and i am like a moth to a flame. i used to think this was a bad thing but now i have just decided to own it, i mean there are worse things to be right?

so here is something pretty from my little studio available now on madeit.com

i heart noise.net

i heart noise.net. i really do. it is a truly great portfolio style website for young Australian creative to display their work including photography, visual arts, film, fashion, music and industrial design. i've had my portfolio on there for 3 years and in that time i have had so much feedback + contacts for to become a stockist or to do work that really i can't say how much i love it. plus it is amazing to see so many people who are talented in one place. so if you are look for inspiration, look no further than noise

and here are some new works + cards available today from madeit.com.au

have a great weekend :)

upside down

i can't believe april is going so fast. and its 27 C in Melbourne today. its a bit like the world is upside down. with time flying like this, i have been trying to make some new cards etc for the madeit store + to even take into some shops again. so far so good, but i keep getting distracted by other crafty things, like how do i make a necklace out of tie? can i make little paper earrings? and i found this new song i love! its called i'm your by jason mraz . now i am not a huge romantic but for some reason this song gets to me. and its been inspiring my new work so i guess its all good really.

heres eve, let me know what you think lovelies xx

eve on the seven seas

i love making things, its just how it is and has been since the good old playdough days. i have been having this recurring image in my mind since i found this old atlas and haven't been able to get the composition quite right. finally i think i did, well for me anyway. i guess a little over the top is a style that comes to me naturally. so here is the result . its eve on the seven seas. she is kind of inspired by xanadu (which i love!). i am really liking the style, and i loved mixing up the mediums. i sketched all the elements, got to use my pastels and even sewed a bit.

i had a truly nice day and it just keeps getting better. first i went to find some thread which luckly i found. then i stopped of at a couple of op shops and found some lovely patterns, 2 ties, a glass bowl and a nice frame. and all for less than $10.

then i actually got some work started - i know i am suprised as you are. so here is a little sneak peek, they are no where near done but i am have some fun experimenting anyway.

one graduation, too many drinks & three big nights out

so i should start by saying i have had a bit of a crazy week which has been all about fun and not so much about work or picking up a pencil. i graduated this week which was actually a lot of fun and i kind of liked the volumes of material and tassled hat. and like maybe only my friends can, we took our celebrations well into the early hours. and then we did it again in our lovely melbourne last night. i am pretty sure i will now have to spend the week working my little fingers to the bone which is going to be a nice change from maybe dancing a little to much to footloose.
so check back soon petals, i will have new works for you soon, promise xx

sometimes you do, sometimes you don't

it's pretty easy to stay inside when its literally blowing a gale, a fred and a whole array of cats and dogs. so keeping that in mind i have had a couple of days of hard work which has been nice but a little frustrating. especially when my computer, printer and sewing machine all decided to chuck tantrums. thankfully all the kids are back in working order and i am really happy with all the work i pumped out. i even had a little all nighter in there which let me tell you is no where near as fun as it was when i was at uni. in archi studies they are kind of common place and always seem to involve a lot of chocolate, music and a little hysteria. i had the hysteria and music to motivate me but i had forgetton about the shakes and floaty feeling you get at 3am when your body is screaming seriously go to bed. in anycase, i got the work done which sometimes you do, sometimes you don't.

here is a sneak peek:

they will be for sale soon but i will fill you in on that later!
i am graduating tomorrow as well so wish me luck!
