six quirky yet boring, unspectacular details about me

well i was tagged by the lovely honor and anna to share a few somewhat uninteresting things with you all.

so here it goes:

1. i don't like mushrooms. they squeek when you cut them and it just sort of freaks me out. also there was an episode in round the twist when i was a kid where they had yellow spots and exploded. it sort of put me off

2. i had a rainbow brite cake for my 5th birthday. it was awesome

3. reality tv show make me a supermodel is my guilty pleasure. its sad, i know but i am a sucker for those model shows

4. i have 17 red pencils which are pretty much all the same shade.

5. i don't like coffee

6. i got my first and only parking ticket two weeks ago. not happy

i don't know that i have ever been so happy to see a friday roll around as i am today. its been a very long but fun week for me. i think maybe i had a little too much fun packed in with a country race meet, seeing lisa mitchell at the toff last night and in between that working + trying to get a little shut eye. so happy friday to you all :)

this is my favourite movie

I have a lot of favourite movies, I honestly can't even name a top ten without breaking my heart by leaving something out. So I thought long and hard and I think that my all time fave is The Return to Oz. I loved this movie so much as a kid because it just was so creative and funny to me. What other movie has lunch pail trees, a hall of heads and a flying couch with a moose head that talks? I never liked the musical version of The Wizard of Oz because it just didn't seem quite right but this has always seemed to me what Oz would really be like. My favourite part would be when Dorothy is trying to pick the objects which are her friends from Oz. I would tell you more but I don't want to ruin it if you haven't seen it.

i like thursdays

i think thursdays are my favourite day of the week. i can't explain it but i am happy on thursdays. and here are some good things for this thursday

this is . . . my current reading material

i love dumbo feather, have still issue one. i find the stories, people and layout so inspiring. and kate who's little baby this whole 'mook' is is pretty much a rockstar in my eyes. if i could grow up and do something with this much passion then i will be a lucky lady.

so last night i went to see the grates and it was pretty much amazing. ok, it was awesome actually. i still might be jumping around with excitement. its making it a bit hard to type actually.

anyway, they are so great live + it just looks like so much fun for them. like i have said before, i love these funsters. all my fave songs were played, i was literally right at the front & apart from a scary few minutes when patience jumped into the crowd and well the crowd went a little loopy, it was awesome!

if you're in melbourne, they are at the hifi again tonight and there are still tickets so do yourself a favour and go along ( i want to go again tonight!)

awww yeah!

i am super dooper excited today for two reasons:

1. my copy of this should be arriving in the mail today

2. tomorrow night i am going to see the grates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and quite frankly i am pretty much floating on air - lets do star jumps -and high five level of excitement.

painted atlas

this is a bit of a work in progress but i thought i would share anyway. its based on my atlas drawing i did a week or two ago but i thought i would try and paint her up. i haven't painted anything since school so i was suprised i actually was happy with the results! i'l let you know how it all goes.....

this is my favourite kitchen gagdet

my fave kitchen gadget is my mix master. it may be a little old and battered but it makes the best cakes around so i could never replace it. plus its so pretty sitting on my bench.
