sparkle and shine

i came across these sparkly gems last weekend while out looking for an outfit for a friends michael jackson party where my friend and i dressed up as sunshine + moonlight (and brought the good times and boogie with us). i was struggling to find something for my moonlight outfit until my eyes came across these in a vintage store in smith street. and they fit me perfectly. lets just say they are officially my cinderella shoes

and if i could wear them everywhere i absolutely would

a place where nobody dares to go...

sometimes your day just isn't great. but for me music always helps. and these two albums have really helped me get through this week. so, i'm putting on my hat (a-la molly meldrum) and asking you to do yourself a favour, and check out the two albums below.

i got the deluxe version and i am so happy i did because not only is the album amazing but on the bonus disc there is a version of xanadu which is one of my favourite movies!

(my fave is kiss with a fist  + i'm not calling you a liar )

art F R E N Z Y

I blame the cold weather. it was pretty cold and windy yesterday in Melbourne. So rather than go and turn into an icy pole outside, I stayed in at lunch and had a little peek on etsy. This was a bad idea for my bank account because I went on a little mini art buying frenzy. at least i wil have something pretty to look at while i am stuck inside out of the cold

i picked up this lovely ACEO from bec winnel, from more of her work have a peek here

and i have been scoping this one out for a little while now, have a look at kelly's amazing work here

how amazing is this!!! check out steph chard's shop here

and lastly, but certainly not least - i picked up this gorgeous print of bacall from the lovely renee-anne's art4friends shop. again i have been etsy stalking this one for a little while!

renee-anne also has an exhibition tonight in sydney with ashlee maegan so if you are in town you should stop by and see her amazing work! I wish i could go, sadly i am stuck in melbourne trying to keep warm.

check out the details here

surfaces

i've been quite lazy with things in general lately, including this blog. i'm sorry, i think i have just had a creative block, like all my ideas have been snowed in for the winter.

so i thought i would share with you a few images from a time when my ideas weren't snowed in at all. in my final semester at uni i designed a gallery and artists spaces with the building being a surface for display. i literally made over 60 maquettes and had hundreds of sheets of drawings. i think i was so motivated because i loved the idea of creating a space where my art could have a home. and inversely i think maybe this is the same reason why i am so uninspired lately. i have sketches and finished drawings literally filling boxes but nowhere to show them so i have been sort of thinking lately what is the point really? i just don't know how you get to have your work be a part of exhibitions. but enough sooking, i hope you enjoy the images
