sunday

it's super cold here in melbourne town today. all foggy + almost like brigadoon, i am fully expecting gene kelly to come dancing down my street some time soon - that's the level of fog i am talking about. i like it, everything seems almost ethereal in this light. fog is the only thing i like about winter i think.
i thought i would share some lovely music i found whilst trying to keep warm this morning.
so pull on your mittens and check out these simply lovely songs:

washington
megan washington is amazing - i saw her opening for the grates a few weeks ago and quite simply was blown away. check out the clip for clementine + listen to my fave fred astaire.

ingrid michaelson
those who stop by regularly will know i heart this american gal's music in a big way so it is no surprise that two new songs from her (which you can hear here) are already in my top five.

joshua radin
paperweight is one of my all time favourtite songs and this lovely song sky is certainly a very sweet song that i already can't get out of my head.

florence + the machine
there aren't words, its just awesome so go check them out here

happy sunday xx

the biggest and longest adventure weekend

i had the best weekend adventure ever officially. it started friday night with seeing the grates. as i have said many time before i love them and i had such an amazing night. then i travelled up to Sydney yesterday for the finders keepers market. and i got some lovely goodies of course while helping out the lovely Angela at the leeloo stall for a little bit. it was super fun! and i did a few touristy things too. a highlight was going to the MCA to checkout the drawing exhibition i walk the line. to say it was inspiring doesn't really sum it up. it was amazing.

some of my lovely finds from the finders keepers market (see below for a list of stockists)

being 15-esque

i've told you before about how i think i am becoming more like a 15 year old everyday. you know the kind of thing i'm talking about, obsessed with boys, make up and giggling like a schoolgirl etc.  well, being home sick for close on two days has led me to realise my crushes are reaching a ridiculous level of being 15 ( i like to call it being 15-esque).
so, in the spirit of being less like a fifteen year old (and more like the 25 year old i am)
i'm going to confess:

i heart michael cera
i can't actually explain it. i think its the nerdy funny sweet thing he has going on. and the smirk. in any case if you have seen nick+ norah or arrested development you will see what i mean.

and today i found these two funny things with michael cera featuring front and centre. clark & michael is hoolarious to say the least. and paper heart is so sweet i won't be needing any sugar in my tea for a little while if you get what i mean. honestly made my day, i laughed so hard i think i may have hurt my neck even more.

pain in the neck

i twisted yesterday morning and pinched a nevre in my neck. i haven't been able to turn my head or nod for 24 hours now. plus i was told to lay flat for 24 hours. i'm not a person who really likes lazing around in bed, i get very restless. so the only way i have been surviving is thanks to these lovely things:

- nick and norah's infinite playlist - my fave movie (and book)
- cross stitch - i know what a nana
- knowing that if i stay still + get better i will go to see these guys Friday night
- cadbury topdeck chocolate - thanks mum!

anyway, hopefully tomorrow i will be ok so i can go and dance like a crazy girl on Friday and more importantly so I will be ok to go to Sydney and the finders keepers market.
If you are in Sydney on the 15th and 16th come along to  the carriageworks and visit the Leeloo stall. I'll be helping out on Saturday from 6pm so stop in and say hi.

24 hours

next weekend i am going away to Sydney. It is literally a flying visit - I'm just there for the weekend.
So my question is - what would you do in Sydney if you were only there for 24 hours?

Last year when I went it rained torrentially for 3 whole days but I still managed to see the opera house + spent  the whole at the MCA (which was sooooo amazing!)

So far I have little planned apart from going to the finder keepers market (the whole reason for the trip) but I would love some suggestions! I'm staying just near Hyde Park which I am excited about because it was one of my favourite places to visit the last time. So,please leave a comment and help me plan my trip!

p.s: happy mothers day to all the sweet mummy's out there xx

i made it

so what better way to spend a sunday than sitting at the computer making a website? well,I can think of a few thousand better ways, but let's not digress. the point is (there is a point, i promise) that i made my website today. and i am pretty happy so far, keep in mind i have no idea what i am doing. there is still a lot to do but so i am pretty happy with the result so far. I would love some feedback though,so go take a peek www.truthbetold.com.au
