Send Leeloo to Berlin

I am pretty sure that by now everyone knows how much I love the ladies of Leeloo Angela & Renee. They have to be seriously two of the most talented, inspirational and all around ace ladies I have had the pleasure to meet. Plus they are nice and who doesn't like nice people?

Why I am telling you this? Well Renee and Angela are planning on heading over to Berlin for the first Etsy conference and they need a little help to do it. Here are a few dets from the ladies below, and you can help them out over at their pledge site:

Etsy are holding their first massive conference in Berlin, Germany this September, hello etsy. We'd really like to go, but we need your help.

We have created a project on IndieGoGo which will give you an idea of what we do here at Leeloo, and why we'd really like to be there. Essentially we think it will help us on our mission to support Australian designers and artists by learning from the best of the world's speakers and meeting the people in the know about online design. We can bring back some inspiration and ideas to share with our lovely community when we return and give you updates on the go while we're there. Awesome, right?

How can you help? Well, if you head to our project on IndieGoGo there's a few ways you can help financially, for which you can receive perks including raffle tickets, discounts and artworks by Renee Anne. You can also help by simply spreading the word for us, which is also greatly appreciated.

We'll keep you updated on how we're going, and we're looking forward to bringing you back the best of our knowledge if we get there!

Also they made a cute video to help promote their sweet cause.

See what I mean about being crazy talented? (I'm dying of jealously pangs right now)

So if you would like to help out head over to the pledge page here:

On the Wall - WIP

So as promised here are a few work in progress shots of my piece for On the Wall

It's progressed a little more since the last shot but I'll save the final reveal for later. I haven't thought of the name for it yet but  was thinking she looks like a little bit of a rebel. Oh and I wish my hair was flame orange like this! Hope you like her :)

DISBAND time!

Ok so I know you are probably tired of me telling you about Disband but I am SO EXCITED!!! So if you are in Melbourne come on down (as Larry would say!) and check it out. The exhibition is open daily 11-6 at No Vacancy Gallery 34-40 Jane Bell Lane at QV (enter the Lane off Russell Street). AND come down to Opening night too - thats on Thursday 26th August 6-9pm. It should be fun indeed.

And below is my last sneaky peek - this piece is called 'i want to hold your hand' and was inspired by the song and the simple (and sometimes painful desire) to just want to hold someone's hand.

Disband: Sneak Peek 2

Only ONE WEEK to go until Disband opens in Melbourne at No Vacancy
Jeepers! I am well and truly excited. I have 3 new artworks for you and I'm kind of pretty stoked with them.
And here is a little sneak peek of one of these newbies as a work in progress.

I'm also excited because in addition to these new artworks I have been helping out as a kind of woman on the ground helping the fabulous Angela and Renee by finding furniture and other loveliness to use in the installation. And it has been fun, except now I have extreme retro furniture envy. Really. So here are some of the goodies that I picked up but to see what the lovely ladies whip them into you will just have to come by the gallery and see!

Oh and don't forget to come to opening night my dears!! Thursday 26th August 6-9pm!!!

heartFELT

You might remember a while back I told you about the super heartfelt project I was lucky enough to be involved in? well if you don't - heartFELT is the newest project by talented brooch crafter Gemma of Candy Bandit .

The project involves 25 artists, who each submitted a design according to how they interpreted the theme heartFELT. Gemma then worked her magic and turned each design into an incredibly detailed handmade felt brooch using repurposed materials to keep things sustainable. And another great part - all proceeds from the sale of the brooches will be donated to a charity of the artists choosing.  AND they are all available at my fave online store Leeloo. Neat hey? Oh and you can pick up mine here
