Filmclip friday - Ghosts

I listen to this song everyday. It just makes me happy and sad all at once and I love it.

And it has a really great film clip too.
So its an obvious choice for (a belated) Film Clip Friday

music makes me happy

i'm pretty sure my love for music, in particular gorgeous layered folkish offerings, is pretty darn clear by now.  Actually the 2 things i am probably most excited about doing on my trip to be truly honest are seeing Laura Marling in Salt Lake City and Mumford + Sons in a few cities on my travels (slightly obsessed, I know).

And here is a little offering to share from boy + bear to tide me over for the 13 days until i leave. i love it and they are stunning. go listen. it's lovely.

i don't mean to be pushy but..

you should buy this album i speak because i can

laura marling is honestly amazing (you might remember i saw her live a little while ago). i have listened to her first album pretty much everyday since i got it  2 years ago because i adore it so much. and i never ever get tired of it. and i have a feeling this new one will be the same.  my faves so far are rambling man + goodbye england.

and i am super excited because i am going to maybe see her again live in the USA. and I am seeing mumford + sons while i am there too. double yay!!!

truth // i like moments of bliss

moments of bliss are few and far between. i mean true moments of joy where you just kind of feel like you are glowing. its rare, well at least for me. so when i catch myself in moment of true bliss and happiness i am always taken aback and in the same moment treasure it. i found myself feeling this exact way last night when i was watching laura marling at the corner hotel.  i haven't been truly content like that in i don't know how long. she is stunningly talented. seriously, if don't already love her, go and listen to her because she is an amazing songwriter with a truly beautiful voice. and she was joined by the rather dapper marcus of mumford and sons who is also ridiculously talented (playing 3 instruments at once anyone?). i was literally swooning over him, sort of embarrassing but completely justified. above are a few photos i took from my front row possie. oh and check out the support act too - boy and bear - they are a rather talented little foursome.

truth // i sound desperate sometimes and that is ok

i have written here about how much i like laura marling a few times. ok many times. and now news today that her new album is coming out in Australia 19th March. i could do star jumps. if only i had tickets to go see her at the corner hotel. if you know anyone who does and doesn't wnat to go email me because i will do anything to go.
do i sound desperate enough? below is a song from her new album. enjoy

EDIT :: I NOW HAVE A TICKET TO SEE LAURA ON SUNDAY NIGHT! STAR JUMPS TIME! I promise I will take some pics to share with you all monday

on my desk

so this week i am running late again with what is on my desk. sorry! but there is a good reason, i have been busy making pretty things and going fun places. so here is what is on my desk:

my allie all framed up for my friend helen my juno dvd(in a giant tic tac box!), the new grates cd & my laura marling cd
my grates pack that finally turned up. it has a pillow case!

i went to see laura marling last night at the corner and well she was amazing, seriously i was stunned.and marcus who was her support & played with her was amazing too. and she has the cutest pixie cut, it gives me hope that my hair will look nice too when it is blonde again (hopefully)
