rain rain & more rain

its been a busy week here between a comedy gala (so so funny), a lovely black & white 21st , easter bunnies and trying to fill orders i am kind in need of a real long weekend! it has been fun though even if it took me a day or two to recover from the 21st! anyway i'm back in the studio and trying to do work while not drowning in this crazy crazy melbourne weather. seriously it was a heat wave last week, now its raining like cats and dogs!

well this has been a good day. its finally cooled down, i just got some new honey almond tea and my cards are now in store at the lovely i dream a highway in northcote. its such a great store with truly gorgeous items in ranging from clothes to stationery. its great! and i am SO excited that rhiannon has taken some of the little truth.be.told babies!

some peace and quiet...

another day, another million dollars or in my case another million tradies visting out house. but finally only 2 weeks late the kitchen is 80% done which means that i can leave the house + shop, cook real food!, and even get some work done. so here are the latest works i have been doing. i really liked the idea of doing a fully orginal piece but i worked my way up by adapting some of my previous ones and rendering these fully, i really enjoyed it but i'm not 100% sure the results are actually any good!! let me know what you think!

i'm also hard at work doing more cards and stationery sets to try and get ahead before easter and my graduation! i just finished my architecture degree only to finally realise that i really really don't like architecture and started having serious panic attacks at the idea of being an architect and never getting to do a creative thing again. so now i am working part time and doing my own little business and am totally enjoying that. now if only my family could get the message and stop begging people to hire me when its not what i want! hmm ok enough ranting, its silly

well while melbourne has literally been melting in this crazy crazy heat, i have been trying to work. i'm not going to lie, its been hard. i mean i want to live in a freezer, not be sewing in the bungalow which was 38 C inside today. i love the heat but seriously, i can't live like this.

the bright spark in my day was my visit to thread den in north melbourne. its a great little place with a lovely sewing lounge and a little retail which has great pieces by fashion and other designers to sell. and now you can get little truth.be.told cards there too! so please if your in the area pop in and support this great place!

i think i have an addiction.....to paper

i think maybe, just possibly, i am addicted to paper poducts. now don't start thinking i am a little crazy - when i say paper products i mean magazines, card and sketchbooks not toliet paper. this realisation came when i went into town today and went into an art supply store. i spent 1 hour looking at paper and couldn't make up my mind because it all seemed perfect. then i stopped into magnation and literally had to summon all my will power to walk out without a magazine as i had convinced myself that i probably needed the 5 i had in my hand desperately. seriously i think its a problem.

on the flipside i did channel this evil addiction and make some spanking new cards.

a peck of hens...

well here is a little glimpse of the hens book i am working on at the moment. its been alot of fun and helen liked it so thats what is really important. just printing it all and then i have to tie up the gift tags i made for each of the hens thank you presents. they look better than i hoped!

so back to the printing and a little bit of sewing new cards. (actually its 35 degrees and a sunday - i'm getting some sun!)

hello and thank god its friday as they say! well its been a pretty good week really, i shouldn't complain. i actually was productive despite my temptation to go and enjoy the sunny weather and have gotten alot of the hens book done to show dear helen tomorrow. fingers crossed she likes it and i will put up some images of it for you to have a sneek peek soon!

and other news, i got my work accepted for a trunkt portfolio!!! i'm quite excited, especially because i thought it my little ladies would get rejected !

so thinkgs are looking up.....better get back to the hens!

hens in the heat

well trying to stay cool in this melbourne heat is hard when you don't have any ac and your dog has a bag habit of drooling on everything (bad for paper) so you can't safely open the door!

but still i managed to be slightly productive today. apart from the usual cards etc i know have a pet project brought to me by my friend helen. i did her sisters wedding invites a little while ago and am now working on a lovely little keepsake for her hens weekend. its been going well so far, but there is still so much to go! anyway, here is a little sneek peek of some of the 'hens' for the book... better get back to the drawing board!
