MSFW North Melbourne Market Designer Event - this weekend!

It has been a little quiet around here lately because among other things, I have been busy prepping for the North Melbourne Market which is on this weekend. I'm really looking forward to it because it looks set to be filled with amazing designers. I'm also excited because my little illustration is on the posters :)

If you are in Melbourne this weekend or know anyone who is - come on down to the market and say hi!

why wednesday?

wednesday isn't my favourite day. i find myself in an odd mood and asking why?! alot on wednesdays. i think it is mainly because wednesday means the end of the week isn't quite close enough to cause celebration but just close enough to tease you. it just isn't fair. but if you are having the mid week blues like me stop into thread den in north melbourne where a just dropped off a bunch of my christmas and regular gift cards for you to snap up. and of course there is always the madeit shop and my little store at rose street artist markets on each sunday until christmas. come along and say hello if you are in the neighbourhood, i really love visitors :)

here is my second piece for the
thread den killer queen show (one more to come!)
hope you like it, it's called 'don't come down' + was loosely based on a gorgeous photograph of toni collette in one of those sunday magazines from a few weeks ago although i don't think it ended up resembling her at all which is fine!

don't come down

don't come down - close up

hope you have had  a great weekend - and happy birthday to my bestie yols xx

i heart sleepless nights (& friday)

i made this at 3am this morning. i should have been asleep. but instead i was making sweet things for the thread den market on sunday. i'm not complaining, it was way too much fun sewing and singing along to lisa mitchell's new album. ahh the creative things you can come up with on a friday morning after very little sleep always amaze me.

happy friday

truth.be.told at thread den

well while melbourne has literally been melting in this crazy crazy heat, i have been trying to work. i'm not going to lie, its been hard. i mean i want to live in a freezer, not be sewing in the bungalow which was 38 C inside today. i love the heat but seriously, i can't live like this.

the bright spark in my day was my visit to thread den in north melbourne. its a great little place with a lovely sewing lounge and a little retail which has great pieces by fashion and other designers to sell. and now you can get little truth.be.told cards there too! so please if your in the area pop in and support this great place!
